Community Gardening Partnership

Matthew 25:35-36

"...for I was hungry and you gave me food,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
I was naked and you gave me clothing,
I was sick and you took care of me,
I was in prison and you visited me."

In the Summer of 2010 Grace Episcopal Church partnered with the Liberty School District to launch a community gardening program, "Planting the Seeds of Nutrition, One Student at a Time." Every Wednesday evening throughout June and July children and adults gathered in the Garden at Grace Church to learn how to plant and care for crops, to learn about the "vegetable of the week," to harvest produce, and to prepare and share a simple supper using the vegetables they had just harvested.

We look forward to resuming and expanding this exciting program in the summer of 2011.
