Luke 18: 15-16
"People were bringing even infants to Jesus that he might touch them; and when the disciples saw it, they sternly ordered them not to do it. But, Jesus called for them and said, "Let the children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.'"

Meet The Reverend Trish Winters!

Greetings! I am The Reverend Trish Winters and I serve as the Clergy Associate for Spiritual and Educational Formation of Children and Youth. I am ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and have been working with youth and children since 2000. I graduated from Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky, with a Master of Divinity, and from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, with a BA in Religious Studies and Psychology. I’m married to The Reverend Brett Winters and together we have two great dogs and a bunny!

It has been said, that we are drowning in information, but starved for knowledge. At Grace Episcopal Church, I believe we are not simply disseminating information, but teaching our children how to think as faith-people and as Christians. Their faith-knowledge comes from the stories found in the Bible, the gathering and worshipping community, and their experience of God at work in the world. This learning is nurtured during our Sonshine Academy (Christian education) hour, where youth and children experience the stories of faith, worship God with their prayers and actions, and work with God’s people through mission. I hope you will join us as we learn and experience God’s story together.

Calling all 5th - 12th Grade youth!!  Every 1st and 4th Sunday we gather from 4:00-6:00 pm for some God-filled fun, adventure, and learning. Join us on September 28 for our next get together and bring a friend or two, as we explore our mission and our “treasure” as Christians!

Nursery Care is provided from 9:00-11:30 am for ages birth to three years old. Our dedicated nursery workers are Verna and Andreea.

Summer in the City Mission Extravaganza

In July Mother Susan and Rev. Trish led a fantastic mission program! Sixteen youth spent a week serving the world in God's name at The Kansas City Community Kitchen, Love, Inc, the VA Hospital, Harvesters, and Operation Breakthrough. The next youth mission experience will be during Christmas break. Go to Photo Gallery to view photos of Summer in the City.
