FEEDING MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

1st Wednesday Breakfast for Panty Guests:    This morning our Pantry Guest Breakfast Ministry Team served a wonderful breakfast to over 20 of our pantry guests.   The goal of this ministry is not only to serve a full breakfast every 1st Wednesday of the month but to afford an opportunity for us to build relationship with our guests.   BTW, everyone who comes for breakfast is seated and individual orders are taken – we truly serve them!  Many thanks to Judy Dilts, Sylvia Nadler, Kristina Strickland and Debbie Dangler, along with Mother Susan and me, have been part of this ministry team.

This ministry can continue only if we have ministry volunteers to “make it happen” every 1st Wednesday from 7:30 am to 10:30 am.   We need volunteers for November, December and into next year.  Perhaps you wish to serve every month, perhaps you can serve only one month (the schedule is posted on the bulletin board and is out for the next six months).   Ready to serve others?   Sign up on Sunday or better yet replay to the email.

Weekly Sprouts Pick-Up:     Every Monday morning members of Grace Church meet to the Spouts Grocery store off 152 to pick-up food items for our pantry, items which if we did not receive would be headed for a dumpster.   Since the program began almost two years ago Grace Church has recovered and distributed to our panty guest almost 35,000 pounds of food.    Yes, that number is correct, 35,000 pounds (almost 18 tons).

A three person team is needed each Monday to meet at Sprouts loading dock at 9:30 am for pick up and then to take to Grace and weigh and place in readiness for the Pantry.    The work is done by 10:30 am, so this will only cost you one hour plus drive time.   Many thanks to Tam Brothers, Michelle Anderson, Martha Huffman, Jerry and Brenda Long who already volunteer.   Ready to serve every Monday or once a month?  We need people for every shift.  Sign up on Sunday or better yet reply to this email.

Franklin Friends:     We need someone to volunteer to take the FamilyPacs for Franklin Friends to the school on the 3rd week of the month.   Once packed on Sunday morning bags can be placed in one’s car for delivery to the school Monday or Tuesday.   Many thanks to Vicki and Bill Jones, Jerry and Brenda Long, Amy Reames and Boomer and Mtr. Mimi who cover the other weeks.   Respond to this email!

Grace’s Pantry:   Open every Wednesday from9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  We need one more volunteer for the 12:00 Noon to 3:00 pm shift on the 2nd and the 5th Wednesday of the Month and every Wednesday for the 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm shift.   Many thanks to our present ministry volunteers:  Mona Preuss, Nancy Engel, Jody May, Adele Sandstede, Fr. Bob Bee, Rebecca Morris, Jerry and Brenda Long, and Ellen Schmidt.  You know what to do:  reply via email or sign up on the bulletin board.

PANTRY
Thank you for your continued very generous support of Grace's Pantry. Our Franklin Friends Family Packs program begins again for this school year this Sunday. After coffee hour, at about 11:30, we'll pack food for 22 children and their which will be delivered the first of the week to Franklin Elementary School. The need for Pantry food has never been greater. Most needed are canned vegetables of any kind but anything that you can share will be greatly appreciated.

In Christ's Love,
