Middle School/High School

The Middle School/High School Formation Class will begin this Sunday, September 10th.  The class will meet from 9:00 to 10:00 although this Sunday there will be breakfast for all from 8:45 to 9:15.   We invite class members to come for breakfast and eat as a group in Mother Susan’s office.
Earlier this summer Robert Herschede, our adult leader, met with class members to select the curriculum for this fall from the Episcopal Curriculum for Youth developed at the Center for the Ministry of Teaching at Virginia Theological Seminary.   This curriculum is modular in design and the group decided to address the following components in this order:
Diversity:
 Stereotypes
 Ethnicity & Culture
 Racism
 In the Church
Violence:
 In the Media
 In War
 In the Schools
 In the Community
 In Our Nation
Spirituality:
 Finding God in Silence
 Getting to Know God
 Serving God
Relationships
 Respecting Others
 Costs of Relationships
 Getting to Know Others

I invite you to go to the Episcopal Youth Curriculum site for more detailed information and description at https://www.vts.edu/page/center-for-the-ministry-of-teaching/publications/episcopal-curriculum-for-youth .
