A Prayer for Those Whom We Love

 Almighty God, we entrust all who are dear to us to your never-failing care and love, for this life and the life to come, knowing that you are doing for them better things than we can desire or pray for; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

  In Our Prayers This Week
 
Rest in Peace
We pray for the repose of the soul of Dick Rote, uncle of Susan Lambrecht. May he rest in peace and rise in glory. May all who mourn his death find comfort in knowing that he is forever sheltered in God's loving embrace. We pray for God's peace and comfort for his wife, Bonnie, his children, Richard and Linda, his niece, Susan, and for all who loved Dick.
 
Thanksgivings
We give thanks for the safe return from Afghanistan of Joshua Caldwell and all the members of Company A, 3rd Battalion, 101st Airborn. Thanks be to God.
 
Intercessions 
The people of Joplin as they continue to rebuild their lives and their community.
 
Peace in God's World 
For peace in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Somalia and throughout God's world.
For and end to hatred, violence and war.
 
For our veterans; for all who are serving in our military, especially those in harm's way, including: Jimmy Gallup scheduled to return October 2012.
 
For Justice for All 
For the full inclusion of all the baptized in all the sacraments.For all who are hungry. For all who are without shelter. For affordable, decent housing for all.
For the lonely, the fearful, the discouraged, the oppressed and those in prisons. For the unemployed and the underemployed.
